Mary Sue, We love You! |

Being 5'8", 118lbs, able to eat anything I wanted and put on no weight, had some advantages in life.
I was first spotted by a modelling agency at the age of 12. Naturally, my education was far more important to me - I was undergoing my A levels at the time - and so I politely turned them down. They were most disappointed. They told me that they had never seen anyone with such crystal clear blue eyes, perfect complexion, perfect posture, long straight gorgeously unusual coloured (strawberry blonde with natural streaks of blonde) hair. I was approached many times over the next few years, and was even asked if I would like to be a movie star, but I declined every single invitation.
Because, as well as my unswerving devotion to my work, I knew that as soon as I smiled they would see my major flaw - the dimple on my left cheek. I was most self-conscious about it - it added an asymmetry to my otherwise, allegedly, perfect face.
My education was conducted in England. After taking 8 A levels (most people took 3 or 4) and gaining a's in all, both Cambridge and Oxford Universities pursued me actively. I couldn't decide, and ended up with a compromise - studying medicine at Oxford while studying law at Cambridge. I graduated at the age of 16, then decided that I'd like to perhaps go into politics, and so took an extra degree alongside my PhD from York and Leeds Universities.
At the age of 18 I discovered that my parents had, in fact, adopted me after finding me abandoned on the streets of London and that my real family originated from America. It was a shock, but I assured my parents that I loved them as if they were my birth parents. I then admitted that regrettably I had been offered a position in a law firm and at a hospital in New York and that I had to go and help the poor unfortunate people of America. It seemed like my destiny. I spent a further 2 years as a doctor and lawyer, managing to uncover a cure for aids, cancer, and every std known to man whilst I was there. But I quickly got bored, it wasn't challenging enough and so I went to Washington, DC to become a politician in order to try and help more people. I'd submitted articles for several medical, law and politics journals in the past few years and so I was fairly well know and was quickly employed as Chief of Staff to a wonderful liberal democrat Congressman.
Unfortunately, the day that I took off to do and see the sick children in hospitals and miraculously cure half of them as well as visiting the poor and helping them in every way possible, he was admitted to hospital and later died of a heart attack. I felt most guilty, why hadn't my psychic powers alerted me to this? It was while I was walking round in this guilt ridden haze that I literally bumped into Joshua Lyman, Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House. Being Chief of Staff for a key member of the democratic party, I knew who he was, but somehow had never managed to see him in person before.
My attraction to him was instantaneous, but I sensed that his heart belonged to someone else.
"Caitlyn Janel Ellis?" He asked, and I looked up, surprised. "I've been looking for you all over DC. The President needs your help for a situation," he said, and I quickly agreed to follow him back to the White House.
My first impression of the Oval Office was that it was bigger and far more impressive than I had imagined, but there was no time for this. "Caitlyn Janel Ellis? We need your help. Let's go to the situation room," the President said as he shook my hand.
Leo McGarry was waiting for us there, along with the heads of the FBI, CIA, Army, Navy, and numerous other important people.
"Caitlyn Janel Ellis!" Leo sighed in relief at seeing me. He showed me to a seat at the head of the table as the President stood behind me. "None of us can figure out what to do. We've got a load of cross stitchers threatening to start war with Scandinavia unless we give into their demands. What are we going to do?" He asked desperately. The men and women at the table looked at me, then promptly got on their knee and begged me for the answer.
"I'll speak to them," I said. I had experience with this sort of situation, and besides I was quite a keen cross stitcher, I could relate.
I went out onto the grass and grabbed a megaphone from a policeman who was unsuccessfully trying to control the crowd.
"Hello everyone," I started, and an immediate silence over came the group, the cops, the President and his entourage, and they all looked on in amazement and awe at my abilities to control crowds. I'd been to Glastonbury when I was singing in my world famous, number one band, this would be a synch compared. "My name is Caitlyn Janel Ellis. I was just wondering if we could resolve this peacefully. There is no need for war, we should all be friends with one another. It is wrong to hold our Government to such demands. I'm sure we could all go for ice cream in the park and all be friends. Are these terms acceptable?" I asked, hesitantly.
A cheer rose from the crowd, my name was repeated over and over. I went back inside the White House to find the President, Leo and all the staff from the West Wing standing there.
"Caitlyn, we could never have done this without you," the President said. "I was thinking that perhaps you might like to join us and become our Chief General Strategist."
"It would be an honour, sir," I replied. Everyone cheered and hugged me and there was much celebration.

I quickly settled in and became good friends with everyone. Most especially Donna Moss and her boss, Josh. I still liked Josh, but I could tell that Donna was the girl for him, and so gave up my pursuit of him willingly. Donna would often talk about him, but no mention of feelings was ever spoken of.
"Josh is going out with someone tonight ... Michelle. She seems quite nice, but I don't know. She's just not the one for him," she said one day, regretfully, as we were doing some important White House work.
"You love him, don't you?" I said, smiling.
Her eyes went wide. "No! I don't!" She denied it quickly, but then got to thinking about it. "I don't know. Maybe. Perhaps. Yes, I love him and want to live with him forever," she whispered before breaking down into uncharacteristic weepy tears. I comforted her, refuting her fears that he didn't feel the same way. She wasn't to be convinced. Neither, it seemed, after a similar conversation with Josh, was he convinced that she liked him. I had work to do.
Several weeks later my parents phoned me, telling me that the private detective that they had hired had finally come through with the details on my birth parents. It seemed that Donna was not only my best friend, but my sister as well. I recalled her telling me of a young sister that she had had who had mysteriously disappeared on day and whom she missed terribly and would never give up hope of finding again. When I told her the good news, she broke down again, and we hugged and talked for hours. "You're exactly what I pictured my younger sister would be," she exclaimed.
Christmas was drawing near, and there was still no progress in the situation between her and Josh. I now felt even more dedicated to my mission, as well as tending to the sick and needy and performing healing miracles in Church every Sunday.
I decided that there was only one thing for it. Mistletoe.
I hung it in the middle of Josh's bullpen and waited to see the result.
I hugged myself in joy as CJ cornered Toby underneath it, as Sam caught Ainsley, Mallory and Ginger under it all at the same time, as Leo looked up to see it when talking to Margaret. They would all be living happily ever after, and all thanked me immensely for all and any part that I had to play in it, and just for being there as well. Some pairings had taken much orchestration, I admit.
But Josh and Donna refused to take the hint. So, one day, after improving health care, education, gun control, fuel emissions, benefits (with an extra clause for preventing fraud) and decreasing crime statistics, all without increasing tax to the American citizens, I formulated a plan. I had to get Sam in on it too. He was only too happy I had been the one to ensure that Ainsley, Mallory and Ginger had been standing under the mistletoe at precisely the right moment.
I was going to get my world famous number one band and I was going to sing a song and dedicate it to Josh and Donna at the end of my concert to help everyone in need in the park in DC. Sam just had to convince them to turn up and sit near the front.
It was a Saturday night, New Years Eve, the clock was just before Midnight and I had finished my second to last song. It was time for the dedication.
"This song is for two very special people who need to see what is in front of them. Josh and Donna, I love you guys!"
So in my contralto voice, often said to be the most beautiful sound in all eternity, I began to sing my number one song that had remained at number one for a record 35 weeks in England alone. It was called ‘In Front Of You' and was about two friends finally seeing what was in front of them and realising their love for one another.
It worked. Josh and Donna stared deeply into each others eyes and got closer and closer until they finally kissed. The clock struck 12. Everyone in the world cheered. Shooting stars filled the night skies. Lightening pelted the earth (and managed to miss everyone) and the angels in the heavens literally sung. It was the perfect moment.
Later Josh and Donna came up to me, holding hands. "You're
the best sister anyone could have!" Donna exclaimed. "Thank
you for everything."
Josh gave me a kiss, and I was made.
My work here was done. The next day I flew back to England in order to prepare for my trip to the poorest countries in the world in order to solve their debt, food shortage and health crises amongst others.
Such is my life.
God, I can't wait until I'm 22!
THE END
